The wall in the dining room had the upper section removed to make a half wall opening much of that section of the house making the rooms look bigger. The steps were removed to be modified so a half wall could replace the railing.
Panel Tile Drywall Drywall Paint
Panel Nightmare Ceramic Tile Removed First Coat of Drywall Stairs and Half Wall Replaced White Out
Primed
There has been a lot of circuits cable and phone lines added leaving a lot of temp hookups at the panel. Since you can no longer get the stile of ceramic tile I had on the landing to match what I wanted to put on the steps I had to remove the tile from the front landing as well. I then replaced the stairs including a new half wall and gave the whole place it's first coat of drywall. Then a coat of primer.
Storm Paint Paint Floor Floor
Storm on the Scaffold 1st Finish Coat Offset by the white hall Front Room Floor Hall Floor Under Construction
Now the walls take on their color. The dark will be offset by white trim and white window dressings plus the walls in the hall will be white. Combine all this with a light floor covering and furniture I think it will look very nice. Don't you?

Floor installed"August Cherry" FIRE!!! Base Molding Installed Let the robot clean it up Somewhere to park my butt
The Floor is called August Cherry and turned out very nice and went down very easy. The next job was hooking up the gas to the fire place. We installed one 100lb bottle to get it up and running with a room for a second propane bottle. Next came the base molding which really stood out against the wall color. And then what we all been waiting for ....Somewhere to set!
Window Stair Stair Control Wall Ducks
Window Blinds Top stairs and landing Basement Stairs and Boxes of tiles Control Wall Ducks???
The window blinds gave us a bit more privacy from the squirrels. Then the Entry way and stairs were gotten ready to have the ceramic tile laid. You can see the boxes of tiles lined up on the steps. The control wall is functioning but still needs the entry system and weather station added. OK so the ducks got nothing to do with the house but I was at the lake and thought they were cute! So fire me! :)
Stair Compus Compus Compus Compus
Stair Tile Compass Compass Continues Compass Half Full Compass is Completed
We started to lay the tile on the steps. When they were done I started work on the compass that will be inlayed in the landing. The above pictures is only partly complete. Damn That's a lot of work! The compass was completed. I was so excited till it came time to take it up and cement it to the floor. That is when I discovered it was to big to get through the door. After a few choice words I took it apart and re assemble it again where it is now. It still needs to be grouted and that will be done when I grout the whole job...soon!
Bush Curtains Compass Fan compass

I just had to get a pic of this bush in my yard that is blooming. And finally I got the rods and curtains up to the main window. The job is getting done. The floor got completed around the compass. Just got the grout to put in now. They had a sale on fans today. Half price. So guess wa? I put the fan in today! It's Done! The compass is finely finished. OMG that was a lot of work but was worth it as it turned out great.

So that is what has been keeping me busy the past little while. It was a job long over due. Check back often to see how the job is progressing.
Sorry it's been awhile since I updated this page. Things have been nuts here.
I just had to update seeing how my favorite sweet kind loving forgiving sister in law sent me a e-mail telling me to get busy and update this page. I should start a page on my life.....Like I got time for that ;)
